SCOPE NOTE
A four-channel same-bath file is not published here
Luke Miller published an eight-channel stirred-bath table. Those differences are his. This publication has not confirmed a live four-channel instrument or published a same-bath CSV.
A multi-channel thermocouple logger measures contact points. It is not a cold-chain release file. This publication has not confirmed a live four-channel instrument or published a same-bath CSV, so there is no original same-bath note.
Luke Miller’s 2010 note multiplexed eight thermocouples, wrote LOGGER00.csv, and compared channels with a stirred bath and a NIST-traceable 0.1 °C alcohol thermometer. Most of his channels fell within 0.5 °C of that reference. The AD595A factory specification in his text is ±3 °C. Ground-loop noise on a hotplate made the readings jump. Those figures stay his.
Xanthium’s four analogue columns are LM35 sensors on a PC-tethered board. They are not thermocouples and they are not a fridge mapping.
What would a same-bath file have to include?
An original same-bath note would need the instrument and firmware in a photograph, four probes in the same ice bath and then at different points, and a raw CSV per channel with the interval and timezone as printed. It would also need a sentence that a contact-point spread is not a GDP mapping. This publication has not confirmed a live four-channel instrument and has not published that file, so the list below is the missing record, not a result.
- Instrument identity and firmware, photographed.
- Four probes in the same ice bath, then at different points.
- Raw CSV kept per channel, with interval and timezone as printed.
- A sentence that a contact-point spread is not a GDP mapping.
- Luke Miller, A thermocouple datalogger based on the Arduino platform ↗Personal bench note, 17 August 2010, code updated 8 July 2012. Eight multiplexed thermocouple channels, 5 s–10 min interval, LOGGER00.csv, stirred-bath table versus a NIST-traceable 0.1 °C alcohol thermometer. Those readings are the author’s. Biology bench, not a food or GDP file.
- GitHub, millerlp/Thermocouple_datalogger ↗Companion source for the 2010 logger. Later Thermocouple_datalogger_2 uses MAX31856 and EEPROM offsets. Hardware, not a cold-chain release record.
- Xanthium, Python data-acquisition system logging to a CSV file ↗Rahul Sreedharan, 19 October 2023. CSV header No,Date,Time,AN1,AN2,AN3,AN4; filename from the host localtime; Ctrl+C to stop. Four LM35 sensors, not thermocouples. PC-tethered. The older GitHub path cited in earlier notes returned 404 on 23 September 2026.
